Why GATE

Why GATE?
1.     PSUs like IOC and Govt. organizations like BARC etc give preference to the GATE score.
2.     GATE qualified candidates in Engineering disciplines are also eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories.
3.     If you have really performed well in GATE and in your undergrad course, you stand a chance to directly do PhD at these prestigious institutions.
4.     Only GATE qualified students are eligible for stipend of INR 8000 per month.
5.     Over 400 institutes including the IISc, IITs and NITs require GATE score for admission to their ME, M.Tech and MS Programs.

Why pusrue ME, MTech at top institutes like IIT, IISc?
1.     Most Important Reason – If you don’t have your undergrad degree from top institute, there is a chance to get one. You will not only be a part of prestigious body but also enjoy top class learning & research.
2.     Always remember – A job or money making source is temporary but learning or knowledge or experience or degree from a top institute is forever. I’ve seen my managers and VPs still showing off their academic backgrounds.

Other reasons are -
3.     More and better companies come for campus placement in leading Institutes.
4.     ME, MTech provides a solid platform for careers in core R & D domains.
5.     Higher salaries are offered for MTech as compared to BTech.
6.     MTech degree leads to specialization and opens doors for PhD in India or abroad (Of course at a top college).
7.     MTech degree is a must for those who wish to apply for Faculty/Research positions in educational institutes/R&D centers. And with 6th pay commission, even PhD is also required to move up the ladder.
8.     Scholarship (Rs 8000 pm ) is paid during MTech, so no headache to parents for financial requirements.
